I'm Tired of Blubbering, Selfish Idiots like Robert A. Hall

A racist, homophobic poor-bashing politician exposes his cruel side for all to see.

Robert Hall
Robert Hall

(SALEM, Ore.) - 'The Ugly American' is alive and well, I believe the character Archie Bunker played by Carol O'Connor would be proud of the overpaid whiny politician Robert A. Hall and his big time bellyache being circulated among other rich wankers who want to blame their non-problems on the poor.

O'Conner was nothing like the character
he played, though Robert Hall certainly is.

I'm not impressed with the 'work ethic' of any politician who rallies against the poor, Bunker, oops... I mean Hall, needs a big box of Kleenex and his past as a U.S. Marine means squat if this is how he turned out.

His little tirade: "I'm 63 and I'm Tired", written for his blog in 2009, typifies why and how we ended up in this terrible position as a nation, teetering on the verge of non-existence, due to the ambitions of greedy sons of bitches who have no idea how lucky they are to be who and where they are. Instead of appreciating his privileged position, this Hall character just blubbers along in fifth gear.

He has no sympathy for the poor, for those who are unfairly compromised, he apparently doesn't believe in the timeless words from the song What it's Like by Everlast: "You know where it ends, it usually depends on where you start". They (men like Hall) suggest that all have the same opportunity, this is not true. Any person can reproduce, it takes no skill, however parenting does and it is a massive failure in this country. However that is because of the inequity from wealthy selfish self-absorbed people like Hall, and there is no other reason, and yes, money from some absolutely needs to be spread among the poor, it does.

There is no excuse for a single person possessing a billion dollars, a million or two should be about it, and after that taxes should be so steep that it doesn't pay to horde. Of course in this country greed pays big dividends, always off the backs of hard working Americans, unlike this dude. The majority of people who refuse to believe that limits should not exist, are bourgeois über-capitalist neo-fascist fools and warmongers.

People neither seek or attain their position in life by their own doing, so realizing one person has opportunities and another does not should be among the most basic understanding of all humankind.

We've all seen the man at the liquor store beggin' for your change.
The hair on his face is dirty, dreadlocked and full of mange
He ask the man for what he could spare with shame in his eyes
Get a job you fuckin' slob's all he replied

A child in Mexico does not seek to be sold into slavery, a baby in Asia did not ask for their parent to carry toxins from chemicals sprayed over Vietnam, the battered population of Gaza did not ask for illegal weapons to be dropped on their city, the youth of America's inner-urban neighborhoods did not want their parents to be addicted to drugs the CIA imported from Central America in trade for weapons the U.S. used to control a populace by proxy, none of this was asked for.

But bullheaded people like this whiny politician are here to bellyache and kick and scream about a fraction of their fat checks helping the poor, trust me, I am not exaggerating, I wish I was. This man should be ashamed of himself.

Here is his first paragraph

"I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked hard since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired."

God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in his shoes
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to sing the blues
Then you really might know what it's like...

So, when jobs were scarce Hall tried but could not find an employer to hire him, thirty years after the conclusion of the Great Depression? Fifty hour weeks, is this the measurement of a good man? I guarantee I work literally, twice the number of hours each week that this complainer does, but I am thankful to have a way to stay alive, and help the world at the same time, every day. Don't worry, before this is over, you will hear how much Hall dislikes those who report for a living also.

Of course the virtues left by Christ and Mohammad are simple and straightforward, we are to take care of the poor, we are to remain peaceful in our pursuits, we are to ensure that violence is not met with violence. In fact, Jesus told people to turn the other cheek if they were slapped. Remember, Hall is another overpaid politician, with his self-righteous bullshit.

"I'm tired of being told that I have to 'spread the wealth' to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it."

Oh yeah, this guy is a real gem. His goal is likely the shared mantra of so many grotesque overpaid and overfunded people in this country, "He who dies with the most toys wins". Hall, you are no winner, you are a whiner, very different indeed.

"I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money."

Mary got pregnant from a kid named Tom
who said he was in love
He said don't worry about a thing baby doll
I'm the man you've been dreamin' of But three months later he said he won't date her or return her call
And she sweared god damn
if I find that man I'm cuttin' off his balls And then she heads for the clinic and she gets some static walkin' through the doors They call her a killer,
and they call her a sinner, and they call her a whore

No Hall, it is one of your obvious heroes, Bush and his false flag wars, particularly the one in Iraq, that have ruined this country for good. You would excuse any war crime act of the U.S. or anything else, obviously, because you are a dangerous type called a 'nationalist' and that is not the same as a patriot, not at all.

And on that subject, there is no doubt that the Founding Fathers would despise this man, and he should be thankful that great men like Smedley Butler (Marine Hero with 2 Medals of Honor who coined the phrase 'military industrial complex' and strongly warned against it long ago) are not around to counter the bull.

I'll bet Hall hasn't lived in a place that could be purchased for $250k in thirty years. You are one more greedmonger, one more man screaming, Mine, mine! All mine! and your cousins are E. Scrooge and Mr. Bumble.

Nobody cares about your moaning except your fellow rich miscreants who can't imagine not being able to have the latest model Cadillac in their garage, the nerve of people like me!

You have to love Hall, in this next paragraph he muses about the United States losing freedom of the press, just before he slams the role of those very journalists.

"I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of China , the crime and violence of Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of Iran , and the freedom of speech of Venezuela ...."

Yeah Hall, you've never been the villager in My Lai, the mother in Baghdad, the little kid in Kabul, who watched their mom get their brains blown out by U.S. weapons. Indeed, you are one of the lucky ones who went to war (so you claim and I will investigate your brave Marine claims) and came back to have a highly profitable life, and the ability to slam the virtues of my country and faith with your little rich boy wanker attitude. He makes the following statement when in truth, the whole number of Americans ever killed by 'Muslims' was very small until the current wars, very small. Islamic people are like all other human beings, that is how Americans see it, Hall is simply a racist low I.Q. moron.

[CHORUS] God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in her shoes
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to choose
Then you really might know what it's like [x4]
I've seen a rich man beg
I've seen a good man sin
I've seen a tough man cry
I've seen a loser win
And a sad man grin
I heard an honest man lie
I've seen the good side of bad
And the down side of up
And everything between
I licked the silver spoon
Drank from the golden cup
Smoked the finest green
I stroked the baddest dimes at least a couple of times
Before I broke their heart
You know where it ends
Yo, it usually depends on where you start

"I'm tired of being told that Islam is a 'Religion of Peace,' when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for 'adultery'; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to. "

Now we see that Hall is also a liar and a religious bigot. There are not dozens of stories that he mentions, the man i a down in the dirt liar, period. This, a Israel kills more and more innocent people under apartheid laws, that the U.S. government supports with vigor. His bigotry rant continues...

"I'm tired of being told that 'race doesn't matter' in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois."

He really is a bigot. He next tries his little redeeming act at saying essentially, 'Black people are OK if they serve white interests".

"I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government. Like Bill Cosby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's fabulous and everything he says makes sense! Why doesn't someone convince HIM to run!"

I knew this kid named Max
He used to get fat stacks out on the corner with drugs
He liked to hang out late at night
Liked to get shit faced
And keep pace with thugs
Until late one night there was a big gun fight
Max lost his head
He pulled out his chrome .45
Talked some shit
And wound up dead
Now his wife and his kids are caught in the midst of all of his pain
You know it crumbles that way
At least that's what they say when you play the game

Then he lays into Saudi Arabia, which is a little pet friend of this country, implying all sorts of things are going on when in fact they are not any real concern, except with the ultra-paranoid propaganda-eating sheeple who think like this tool.

'I'm tired of being told that out of 'Tolerance for other cultures' we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America, while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance."

This guy is so full of it, he is every reason we are all increasingly becoming damaged goods, that is everyone except the rich, like Hall, who are unaffected. That is what happens when 2% of Americans possess 98% of the nation's wealth. Of course what fascist raving would be complete without a slam on those fighting to save the earth from nuclear disaster and an endless array of egregious violations of our land at large.

"I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough."

Oh my God! 'Not allowed to debate'? This is a fantasy, at best, and the rantings of a thoroughly delusional man. We are supposed to count our blessings as people and we are told by our creator not to judge, listen to this:

"I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I #@*# sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana."

God forbid you ever had to wake up to hear the news
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to lose
Then you really might know what it's like...
To have to lose...

Freak. Why don't you say anything about the pharmaceutical industry that kills more people than illicit drugs ever could have? Oh right, he is probably well in support of big pharma, of course. So what does a low brow like Hall do after that?

Naturally, he goes back to his racial slams, his uninformed persecution of the people in Mexico and other Latin countries who are trying to feed their kids, and as a result travel here to perform jobs that non-Hispanic Americans like Hall would never consider, harvesting vegetables. I'd hate to have seen this cat during the Spanish Inquisitions, or the Witch Trials, he would have been at the head of the line of torch bearers in both cases.

"I'm tired of illegal aliens being called 'undocumented workers,' especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, 'Undocumented Pharmacists'? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need"

Right, as long as it meets your needs Hall. Of course he couldn't be complete without attacking people like myself who convey information for a living, i.e. journalism, or electronic journalism as the case may be. Salem-News.com has 96 writers and a large percentage are Combat Veterans and war photographers and reporters. This little tyrant

"I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear."

Every single one of the right wing heroes today except Bob Dole failed to honorably serve their country at war, that to me is a hell of a thing when they eagerly call for war. I have to admit that I normally do not expose myself to such utter and total bullshit. The Muslim faith is by and far the most persecuted in the world and I would personally stop this cow of a man from hurting any Muslim, he would too, he would treat them inhumanely as the Israelis do every day, and this is where Hall turns criminal. It is not OK to espouse such lies and hatred, it is not healthy and it is on the record, and I hope Hall is happy about that. I can go on and on about Christians killing Muslims in Bosnia, Americans killing 1.5 MILLION Iraqi citizens in an ongoing Genocide against that country, I can talk about the Wikileaks cables that show U.S. Army helicopters absolutely murdering journalists in Baghdad whose only crime was to carry a tripod (Every one of those creep soldiers should be serving a life sentence and instead the nation's whistleblower Bradley Manning remains incarcerated by this fascist nation) and I would like to rub Hall's face in shit like the Americans did to so many innocent tortured Iraqi people at Abu Ghraib. I personally boarded a helicopter at the Fallujah Marine base while covering the Iraq war in 2008 and witnessed terrible abuse of hooded and bound detainees. Hall, you are playing with fire and God doesn't forget people like you, you will pay when you move across to the other side, that I guarantee.

"I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in Illinois , where the " Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet."

Oh, so it is all the fault of the party that does not represent the interests of the rich, really? That is funny, and believe me I see no virtue in the two-party system myself, but to blame problems on 'tax cheats' while representing Republican virtues is another laughable statement.

"I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor."

Right, so you want to go after these kids that make innocent mistakes, but of course you excuse the acts of the soldiers at Abu Ghraib. "Soldiers make mistakes" eh? But if an athlete smoked a joint, you are going to want to go for the throat. Of course his grand finale has to be one that involves a direct attack on poor Americans. If you have to crappy $500 cars in your driveway, you're doing great according to this disconnected nightmare of a man.

"Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were 'poor.' The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing."

I again hope that readers remember this man's words, and that they pass this story far and wide and post it on every blog possible. This man has exposed the dirty side of humanity.

"I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems."

Yes, I'm tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.

Man I'll bet he is tired, just ready to cash it all in. I have so many friends who were Marines in Vietnam, almost none of them see it like this. They know the suffering that was related to their roles, and almost all work exclusively for the betterment of humanity today. We are TJP (Truth Justice Peace) journalists who are located all over the world, and we are the voice of human conscience and reason and we're here to say that people like Robert A. Hall, regardless of the fact that he was a Marine Vietnam veteran and career politician who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate, are simply a disease on the human heart.

They will never be of any good or use to anyone but a select, limited few who meet their personal, narrow set of expectations and it is astonishing that any representative of the American public will would allow his ugly views to be so thoroughly vented. Hall has outed himself, he is a disgrace to everything decent in the world. For the record, this Robert Hall is not the TV actor.

Robert Hall I will be sending you a complete biography on Tim King and you can have a good laugh, we sure do in the state where this interloper has come to, for now... P.S. We do not publicize this idiot, becuase the radical muslims will just give him more money. Cuba will be a good location for this anti-American asap.

Tim King: Mom, I told you not to say things like that in public!

DJ: Not a problem for me, Tim, I've already turned my mother over to the RCMP!

Margaret in Lisle September 6, 2011 9:14 pm (Pacific time)

Mr. King,
Your ignorant attack of Bob Hall’s “I’m Tired” is so bereft of logic, argument, and research that it surprises me you are a “journalist.” But, as many modern-day “journalists”, your liberal politics trump the original mission of your profession. As with most other liberals I’ve met, when they are too ideologic to hear or consider an opposing view, let alone look at history or current data, they resort to personal attacks and name calling. You can count the number of foul names you called Bob Hall, proving my point.

Tim King: I stand for the poor and defenseless.

MarDivPhoto September 6, 2011 4:34 pm (Pacific time)

Mr. King, I just read Mr. Hall's letter to you, and your response, and am a bit disappointed. Not a word of his letter reeked of nastiness, much less the general hatred you keep ascribing to him. He properly rebuked you with hard data about his not being homophobic, as demonstrated clearly by his voting record and even recognition by Barney Frank, yet you ignored that wrongful accusation on your part. You refer to him elsewhere as the "big White guy who wears a suit" as if being Caucasian and having a formal portrait in a suit prove he's somehow bad. That kind of thinking is pretty much akin to what we call racism, judging someone you don't even know by some part of their appearance.
Your writing makes it crystal clear that you are a devoted humanitarian, certainly a laudable thing. But loving the poor and disenfranchised does not require one to despise all those who are not so. You need to dial back a bit on the emotionalism and bias. Since you like references to reading things like the Quran and the Bible, one of the quotes from the latter is that one should always refrain from critcizing the splinter in your brother's eye while you still have a beam in yours.
Peace.

Tim King Peace

Robert Wittig September 6, 2011 2:56 pm (Pacific time)

You did not read any of the three books of the Islamic Trilogy, Koran, Sira or Hadith. Few who claim to have done so, actually do. I will not take up any more of your time. Good day, sir.

Read the Koran, Sira and Hadith if you doubt my words. 'War is Deceit'.

Tim King: It sounds like you have some kind of a mind closing zipper.  You are wrong, Islam is a religion of peace as the others are, that is until they are in the hands of men whose hearts hate.  I say lose the fear, accept that you are overly programmed, good day.

Tom Hall September 6, 2011 2:52 pm (Pacific time)

Mr. King,

Thank you both for your service in the Corps and for an absolutely hilarious review of my friend Bob's column.

I think you missed a key part of Bob's thesis. He does not fault the poor; he takes issue with those who prefer to live off you and me and other taxpayers rather than trying to better their lot in life.

Tim King: Tom, given the MO of your friend Robert, (big white guy who subscribes to white ideas and wears a suit), it is not surprising that there is a breakdown of understanding.  Most people who end up poor are not arriving at that reality because of their own choices, some are, but not all.  Your idea means every single person, regardless of the abuse they received in their life (This could range from combat-inspired PTSD to a woman or child who were in the company of an abusive jerk) should be the same, when they are not.  People are not given the same chances, all do not have good parents, all do not have good friends and siblings yet they also have no choice as to where they begin, or often end up.  God said there would always be poor, and he also told us to take care of them.   People given great opportunities from birth can not be compared to those born in broken homes.  There is little fairness, the United States is losing it, turning its back on its most needy, I believe many who lived in the Depression would be very offended, or was the Dust Bowl their fault for being poor?  Your friend DOES fault the poor, it is terrible and brings shame on all of us who hold ourselves to high ideals.  Semper fi.

Robert Wittig September 6, 2011 2:07 pm (Pacific time)

I subscribe to Bob Hall's Blog. He aggregates a lot of news stories in a single email. I find that a real time-saver. I too am a U.S. Marine, served in Viet Nam, on disability (stroke survivor) so my income is minimal. I read your article. It seemed overly long. I thought it was sort of ironic that you chose the lyrics from an Everlast song, to make a point. Everlast is a Muslim, a convert to Islam, who considers all women to be less than human (this is an absolute and unbending dictate of the 'Religion of Peace'. He hates all non-Muslim, and as a Muslim, it is his absolute sworn duty to bring about the conversion, enslavement or murder of all non-Muslims... This is the basic Article of Faith in Islam, so he has no choice whatsoever in the matter. Read the Koran, Sira and Hadith if you doubt my words. 'War is Deceit'.

Tim King: Robert, I have been to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Kuwait and I have many friends who are Muslim, are you really convinced that these claims of yours are true?  Indeed it seems you are the one who has not read the Qur'an or possibly the Bible for that matter.  There is no truth to your points about Muslims, none at all.  Islam, do you even know what it means?  It means 'Submit to God' and they believe God is the creator of all living things, they believe that no person should even commit violence against another, just like the Christians were taught by Jesus.  However they are so overly exploited by the west and half the Arabs are rich and living above the fray, and none of that helps the oppressed.  That is all I care about, the little guy.  I don't care what color or religion he or she is part of, because they are human beings and they therefore get my commitment.  Since you were a Marine I hope you will read the links below, they are to stories by my friend and fellow writer Nahida Izzat, one of the kindest hearted people I have ever known.  Her family was forced to flee their native Palestine because of a war waged by Israel.  She is Muslim, she can tell you in very direct terms what is not true about your paranoid assertions above.  Trust me, you were a Marine in Vietnam, you know that you don't get an automatic understanding of far away cultures, you are being poisoned by the fearful and that is not a quality becoming a Marine.

Wow.. Mr. King, your rant is so crammed full of seriously leftist/conspiracy junk that I love it. No one can fault you for being unwilling or unable to frankly express your opinions. When I read things like Islam is the most persecuted religion in the world, I can only marvel at the thickness of whatever specail glasses through which you view the world. Saddam Hussein over his reign killed more Muslims, both domestically and in his war with Iran, than anyone else has ever remotely approached. Gaddaffi and Assad are doing a nice job killing their Muslim brethren as we write. They're still blowing each other up in Iraq and Pakistan and a few other places.
But to go through all your seriously far out statements and the idea that the USA, the CIA, and giant US corporations are the root of all evil in the world would take too much time, and besides, none of anything I or anyone else can say will have the slightest impact on you.
It is a free country, so you get to spew all this stuff, which, if you were right about all the nasty, sneaky agencies controlling things, you'd never have survived your first entry.
Have a nice day... in freedom.

Robert A. Hall September 6, 2011 8:36 am (Pacific time)

Dear Mr. King,

I will link to this piece from my Old Jarhead blog post tomorrow, (www.tartanmarine.blogspot.com), because I find it helpful when my readers can see what the opposition is really like. I would thank you for your service to our Corps, but I’ve read your “Confessions of a Marine Corps Mutineer”
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/03/31/confessions-of-a-marine-corps-mutineer/
so I know what kind of a Marine you were. I’m surprised that you think most Marine Vietnam vets would agree with your positions, but I suppose “Shitbirds” (a title you claim with pride) find each other. Most of the vets I know are proud of their service and their Corps. And more likely to hold my political opinions than yours. You disprove the statement that there are no “ex-Marines.” Few Marines who served will accept at face value that all your troubles stemmed from being 5 minutes late for formation.

Readers who are interested in reading “I’m Tired” instead of your foul-mouthed fantasies about it can find it here: http://tartanmarine.blogspot.com/2009/02/robert.html. Among the many positive comments are a large number from Marines who were not part of your “club.”

I don’t have time to respond to your ramblings in depth, but will make a couple of points.

You refer to me with the pejorative “professional politician,” because I served five terms in the Massachusetts Senate (ten years.) If ten years in public office makes me an evil “professional politician,” I assume that you think President Obama, Senator Kerry, the late Senator Kennedy, Rep. Charlie Rangel, and so on are far worse, since their service as “professional politicians” in elective office is far longer than mine. The last 29-years I have managed non-profits that receive no government support, in the private sector.

You refer to me as “homophobic.” If you are going to pretend to be a journalist, you need to learn to do a little research. In 1973, as a (single) freshmen Republican senator representing a 4-1 Democrat district I won by 9 votes, I agreed to be floor manager for then state Rep. Barney Frank’s anti-gay discrimination bills, because no liberal Democrat had the courage. The Democrats of course started spreading the rumor in my district that I was Gay, to the amusement of the women I dated. They were no more “civil” then than now. A few years ago, Congressman Frank read a column I wrote on Gay Marriage into the Congressional record.

Of course, since you attribute President Eisenhower’s coining of “military-industrial” complex to MajGen. Butler, research apparently isn’t your strong suit.

Lastly, you say that, “I'll bet Hall hasn't lived in a place that could be purchased for $250k in thirty years.” You’re on; say $100 to the favorite charity of the winner? Actually, I’ve never lived in a house we paid MORE than $250k for. Currently we live at 182-C Grove Avenue, Des Plaines, IL 60016. (Look it up.) That’s a small condo association called River’s Edge. At 1,300 SF, the “C” units are the largest in the complex. It has 2 bedrooms, two baths, a one-car garage and in-unit washer and dryer. We purchased it for $160k in 2009. You can research the realty transfer records, which are public record. Currently a “C” unit is being offered for $130k—with no takers. You can look it up on Realtor-com. Please send your $100 to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. Or are you all mouth and really a shitbird?

Tim King: Mr. Hall, I sure don't fault you for helping Marines, just as I'm sure you don't hold me in contempt for traveling all over Iraq in '08 to interview Marines and soldiers about PTSD, I had at the time and still may have  the only such interviews recorded in the theatre, and that is a commitment to the Marines that even a shitbird like me had no trouble finding.  It is because this life is about people, human beings.... you know, God's creations?  You choose to believe that some of God's people are good and some are bad yet the crazy thing about it, is that we all worship the same God and seek the same things in the process.  This is why I was fairly incensed by your letter which isn't something that I would expect from a man with your background.  I can overlook a lot, but when hard experiences leave a person feeling hatred toward others over race or culture, then something is failing.

I am glad that you commented, you live in a nice state where people are often very kind, that is good.  Thanks for your service, if I have incorrectly described your living quarters, then I am glad you dropped to explain.

King, the United States was built by people you have nothing in common with, and that's a fact man. Look at the voters and how they vote. Look at the majority trends in the social and political values the majority echo, and tell me where you fit in? We are more experienced, more intelligent and have worked hard to keep our country thriving. You are part of that minority of troblesome anarchists, the parasites, and soon we will be rid of you, oh yeah. You really are stupid, but you just so perfectly fit the narcissistic mold, as do literally everyone of your so-called contributors. You are not journalists, you are idiots.

Tim King: Wow, I am always amazed that a dim-witted wanker like you can even write, it is clear you can't think.
