Sep-01-2010 17:41TweetFollow @OregonNews In Search of a Palestinian Partner for Mark RegevBelén Fernandez Salem-News.comThe fact that Israel continues to qualify its bellicose endeavors with claims of a commitment to conflict resolution meanwhile suggests that Palestinian time may be more efficiently spent searching for a partner for Mark Regev rather than a partner for peace.
(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Following yesterday’s fatal attack on 4 Israeli settlers in the West Bank, responsibility for which was claimed by the military wing of Hamas, Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev informed Al Jazeera that this episode was evidence of how all Israelis are now considered equally valid targets. There was no mention of course that Israelis not located on illegal settlements have in recent years generally been targeted by Hamas only following Israeli breakage of ceasefires, and that such targeting during the Gaza War of 2008-09 resulted in the deaths of 3 Israeli civilians compared to over 1200 Palestinian civilians. The latter figure did not prevent Regev from claiming at the time that Israel had “made every possible effort to target enemy combatants only”. As for whether Regev’s audition for the position of Israeli government spokesman had consisted of reciting such things as “The guinea pig initiated violence against the boa constrictor” and “The armadillo attacked the wheel of the car” with a straight face, further evidence in support of this possibility was found in his response to the Gaza flotilla massacre of May 31, 2010, in which IDF commandos who boarded humanitarian aid boats in international waters and murdered 9 activists were determined to have been on the receiving end of violence. Were Hamas allowed access to the same logic as Israeli spokesmen, the organization may well have excused yesterday’s attack by publishing outdated photographs of assorted household items on Flickr and claiming that these were weapons found in the vicinity of the 4 settlers. The fact that Israel continues to qualify its bellicose endeavors with claims of a commitment to conflict resolution meanwhile suggests that Palestinian time may be more efficiently spent searching for a partner for Mark Regev rather than a partner for peace. ___________________ Belén is a feature writer at Pulse Media. To: What an Idiot... Perhaps you can offer moral justification for the shooting, by IDF, of a 13 year old school girl.. not once, but 17 times (14 of which were pumped into her body after she had been initially shot and then had 2 more bullets pumped into her head). Perhaps you can offer moral justification for the many instances where children, young boys with ages ranging from 9-15, are kidnapped and tortured by IDF with threats of rape and with actually having car batteries attached to their genitals... or for illegal settlers surrounding an 8 year old and beating this child within inches of death... or teens, doing nothing more sinister than attempting to harvest food from their own gardens, being gassed, shot, beaten by both illegal settlers and IDF... I can easily list over 200 such incidents having occurred in just the past few months as compared to the far less than a handful of incidents where Palestinians have actually fought back against such criminal atrocities. Your comments represent a truly disturbed mentality that equates the lives of non-Jewish humans with ants to be crushed, flies to be swatted or spiders to pull legs from just to watch them hobble to their deaths without a hint of conscious recognition for their sentience. Belen uses her exceptional talents to point out the cruel absurdity of Israel's many "justifications" for its inhumanity to man. Far from being a "blood-thirsty leftist journalist", she is a genuine person of conscience not enamored by the drawing of any being's blood. Israel, for over 60 years, has been in a position to reach out and embrace life by offering to share an ancient land, previously shared, with a genuine desire to live together as humans and absent a desire to be dominant in any way. Israel chose otherwise, chose to disregard and disrespect its human brother, relegating him to less than an ant. Israel did not, and does not now, choose peace. I wonder how you might answer to St. Peter.

Body count has nothing to do with morality.
Palestinians hide behind children, hell they send their children armed with explosives into super markets.
Meanwhile, israel builds bomb shelters, lasers that shoot missiles out of the sky, anti-suicide bombing fences.
Want to compare the 3,000+ US civilian deaths to the 100,000+ IRAQI CIVILIAN DEATHS?
No, of course not. Even when 4 innocent Israeli CIVILIANS, including a pregnant women are MURDERED, Israel is still condemned.
These blood-thirsty leftist journalists need to move to Palestine.
Tim King: Tell it to St. Peter.

Jonathan...Last night God told me that I am supposed to have your house..please get out immediatedly and take your family with you or I may have to resort to violence and murder...It is Gods will ! (Sounds kind of stupid, doesnt it?) I have a globe from 1933...and I dont see an Israel, but I do see a Palestine. This is a globe that one got by sending in Cheerios boxtops ...who would have thought that the people at General Mills were a bunch of filthy anti-semites.... even way back then !

Sometimes I wish I believed in Hell, because I would take comfort that Regev, Livini and other apologists for murder would end up there...there is no justice in this world....

The Palestinians should leave the West bank and Gaza and go live in one of the countless Arab states that surround Israel. Let them become citizens of Egypt, Jordan, Syria or Lebanon. Israel (including Judea and Samaria) belongs to the Jewish people, and it will always be a Jewish state. So there.
