(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - A public reception in honor of Pamela Aidan, a popular author of Jane Austen-style books, was given yesterday by the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation. Emeritus Professor John Ehrstine who has taught a popular series of literature classes at the Wilsonville Public Library invited Ms Aidan to speak to his class. Ms. Aidan traveled to Wilsonville from her home in Idaho. Bob Wiesenthal, Foundation President, called the "evening an informative, interesting and entertaining event, par excellence." Pamela Aiden's works include the Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman trilogy, which is heavily based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The trilogy features many scenes from the novel, telling the story from the perspective of Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy. The trilogy was read as part of the Library's Pride, Prejudice and its Progeny literature series. Ms. Aiden's visit as well as the literature series is funded by the Library Foundation. The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation funds programs and services at the Library that enrich the community and help create a culture of learning.
