(SANDY, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP), with the help of Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) and Sandy police (SPD), arrested a Gresham man who was wanted on numerous warrants after he fled a Monday night traffic crash on Highway 26 at Orient Drive west of Sandy. According to OSP Trooper Tyler Bechtel, on October 25, 2010 at approximately 8:44 p.m. a 1990 Nissan pickup driven by Enedino Gonzalez Hernandez, age 30, from Gresham, was westbound on Highway 26 approaching the intersection with Orient Drive near milepost 22. The Nissan pickup crashed into the back of a 2003 GMC Yukon that was starting to move forward after being stopped at a red light, pushing the GMC into the back of a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup. After impact, the Nissan pickup crashed into a traffic signal pole. The Nissan's two occupants were helped from the pickup by witnesses and then they fled on foot. OSP, CCSO and SPD responded to the crash scene. The passenger was found by SPD near the crash scene and Gonzalez Hernandez was found about one block away at a nearby house. Gonzalez Hernandez, who initially provided a fictitious name, was transported by AMR ambulance to Mt. Hood Medical Center for treatment of a minor injury. After he was released from the hospital, OSP transported him to the Clackamas County jail where his true identity and information about five outstanding warrants, one felony and four misdemeanors, were discovered. He is currently lodged at the jail with bail listed at $120,555 on the following charges: Articles for October 25, 2010 | Articles for October 26, 2010 | Articles for October 27, 2010 | Support Salem-News.com: Quick Links

Clearly, this guy has a complete disregard for the law and is unwilling to take responsibility for his actions. Given his extensive rap sheet, he's had enough opportunity to change his ways and obviously chooses not to. He should be locked up until such time that he's proven he can be a responsible adult. If that's 10 years, so be it. Otherwise, it's only a matter of time before this guy kills someone.
