Traffic Stop Leads to Over 20 lbs. of Marijuana Near Madras

(BEND, Ore.) - A Spokane, Washington man was arrested by Oregon State Police (OSP) Friday after a traffic stop nine miles south of Madras revealed over 20 1/2 lbs. of marijuana concealed in his vehicle.

On Friday at approximately 2:16 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2002 Mercury Cougar sedan displaying Washington license plates northbound on Highway 97 near milepost 107 for failure to maintain a lane of travel. The vehicle's driver was identified as Ryan Michael Buley, age 25, from Spokane, Washington.

Subsequent investigation led the trooper to discover approximately 20 1/2 lbs. of marijuana concealed within his vehicle with an estimated value of $50,000.

Buley was arrested on charges of:
Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Marijuana
Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance

Buley was lodged at the Jefferson County Jail pending court appearance.
