Suspect Sought for Salem Credit Union Robbery

Suspect last seen walking northbound on Lancaster Drive

(SALEM, Ore.) - A lone robber fled the MAPS Credit Union at 4001 Winema Place NE in Salem shortly after robbing a teller this afternoon. Marion County Deputies were dispatched to the robbery at 12:36pm. They were assisted by Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Witnesses described the robber as a white male subject in his early 30's, 5'-8" to 6'-0", 185-195 pounds with light brown hair and an acne marked complexion. He was wearing dark sunglasses, a light blue/green baseball style hat with an emblem on the front and an adjustable strap on the back and a gray or tan sweatshirt with "Nike Athletics" written on the front. He also wore light-colored shirt, hanging out beneath the sweatshirt, blue jeans and light-colored tennis shoes.

The robber entered the bank, approached the teller and produced a note demanding money. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen walking northbound on Lancaster Drive. There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.
