Help Stop Slanderous Comments About Salem-News.com

Please help us put an end to this misguided, slanderous criminal who is attempting to deface our five years of hard work. We will prevail and the sooner the better.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon, California and Washington have legal medical marijuana programs. The big money pharmaceutical companies don't like it, and they especially don't like our recognition of medical cannabis.

So, at least one individual is trying to undermine this small media company by calling our advertisers and telling them we "promote drug use" which is a slanderous lie. We have one writer, Marianne Skolek, who is our champion anti-drug crusader. Her daughter died of an OxyContin overdose.

We write stories that expose the dangerous side of meth, alcohol and pharmaceutical drugs that kill people every day.

Marijuana is not a drug, it is an herb that has been used medicinally for thousands of years without ever causing a single death, and it's legal.

Legal pharmaceutical drugs approved by the FDA, blasted all over American televisions urging citizens to self-prescribe medication... KILL PEOPLE.

We do not promote drug use, the only thing we provide is credible information about legal medical marijuana.

So we look forward to discovering the identity of this individual committing slander against this 100% unique Internet media group. Our attorneys look forward to learning who this is also.

We also know that this individual has "demanded" that our advertisers drop their support of us. We will soon identify this individual and we will pursue both criminal and civil action.

We are a small group of volunteers, with a large percentage of writers who are U.S. veterans. We are highly ranked on Google and in many other locations. We know corporate media is against us because we threaten them, that is fine.

But to knowingly call advertisers, that is ten steps over the line. We hope that any of our advertisers reading this will simply hang up on the individual after noting the phone number and a name if possible. Help us put an end to this low life propaganda spreading individual who has placed Salem-News.com in their sights.

I think calling the advertizers and telling them things you think instead of knowing the true facts is harrasing and unnecessary.. maybe we should teach are children about drugs, some and most kill, ive never heard marijuana killed anyone from an overdose..meth, oxy, cocaine, in fact even ibprofin can kill...my father was warned not to take ibprofin with some other meds he was on and now it has destroyed his kidneys and he s on dialsys three times a week. certain foods can kill or so they say cause obesity and other complications. I know the owners of this news site personally and they are in no way doing what this man acused them of , in fact they are the most caring loving people i have ever met...My adopted son was killed in an auot accident march 2009 he was speeding 95 miles an hour and hit a car head on, he was warned and told by all his family and friends not to drive that way, just two months after he turn 18 he decided to drive that fast and drift around a corner, he didnt make it........so whos fault is it? the parent, the child, the car, the street, the car auot maker who made the car...i would say it was my adopted sons fault, he was warned, he made the decision.....im not gonna go blaming the car maker, the street paver, my point is warn and teach your children, maybe even lead by example...dont be sitting in the bar like a bar fly and exspect your child not to follow

Have you got proof that you suffered damages? There is no crime here just allegations of defamation, but you must prove injury and a damage amount. Good luck with that.

Tim and Bonnie, Have an advertiser who you all trust lead the agitator on enough so that you can get a better fix on him. Find a local counselor at law willing to do a little pro-bono work on your behalf(hint-hint) and investigate the possibility of filing a suit in the liar's local courthouse.

We just listened to a YouTube clip of Steiner, he claims in that to have a friend whose daughter died of a drug overdose, not Steiner. He's a liar if he is telling people he lost a kid to a drug overdose.

Now that the United States Deparment of Justice has stop the federal prosecution of marijuana cases. The 'sell out' pharmaceutical companies have to attack all sources that are telling the truth about marijuana, and their dangerous drugs. It is time to wake up. seriously. the mainstream media and the politicians need to start reading instead of having a carrot in front of them to lead them into the game of money-making. To all: ANYone with any knowledge whatsoever about this slanderous person should be warned that non-disclosure of criminal action is in itself an actionable tort. IF anyone approaches you with a slanderous statement, even if only hinted or hidden, share the incident rapidly with Editor Tim. When disclosure and identification finally happens --as it inevitably will-- any evasion of informed-citizen responsibility can bring heavy dollar-damage action by the victim, and in some situations even shared penalty for any criminal responsibility for the damages involved. Given even the slightest indication of such slander by someone in contact with you, report it rapidly to both the police authorities and to Editor Tim.

We in Southern Illinois have problems with meth labs. The reason is because it doesnt stay in the system as long as marijuana so now there are traveling meth labs which are a danger to society. I back medical marijuana because I know how it helped my companion of 30 yeras with the demons of war. He stopped using it and started taking the drugs from the VA and it affected his life so much it actually shortened his life. He passed away 3 years ago and I believe he would still be with us if he was allowed to use medical marijuana for his war related PTSD problles. Tim King did an article about Lynn telling how I support mmj. Does that make me promote drug use as well?
