Searchers and Law Enforcement Still Working Hard to Find Mark Bosworth

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Volunteer search and rescue members continued spot checks in Douglas County today, in the search for Mark Bosworth. A team checked out a couple of areas on Cow Creek Road following a hunch Mark could have wandered that direction. Cow Creek Road stretches to the southwest awa from Riddle and runs along its namesake creek. No sign of Mark was found.

Tips come in from Indiana, elsewhere

Law enforcement continues to run down any and all tips coming into the tip line, no matter how far away. A Douglas County Sheriff's Office detective followed up on a call today about a man matching Mark's description along I-80 in northeastern Indiana, near a travel plaza. The caller had made a stop at the plaza Monday morning on his way from Chicago to Ohio and heard two women at the shop talking about a man who was acting oddly. The caller then spotted the man near the interstate. It wasn't until he was returning to Chicago late last night that he saw Mark's missing persons flier and thought the man he saw could be Mark. We haven't heard from authorities whether they have been able to verify if the man was Mark or not.

People have put up fliers in cities and along highways in areas throughout the U.S. That awareness is important and gives us hope that someone is going to see Mark, know it is him and immediately call 911.

Vanished without a trace

Mark vanished on September 16th in Riddle, Oregon while volunteering with Cycle Oregon. He had been confused and disoriented in the days before his disappearance. His family and doctor believe the cancer Mark has successfully battled twice in the past has returned and spread to his brain. He is likely suffering severe headaches at this point and may be acting strangely or withdrawn.

Anyone who sees Mark is asked to call 911 right away. Reports of previous sightings should still go to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 541-957-2099. There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads us to Mark.
