(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - On October 14, 2010, at 11:20 a.m. the Beaverton Police Department received a call of a roll over crash on Highway 26, east of the 185th Avenue exit.

Witnesses said a car was entering the highway at a high rate of speed when it ran into a large truck, causing the truck to roll.

Beaverton resident Jeffrey Bowman (28) told police he was driving his grey, 4 door, Subaru Impreza and entered Highway 26, westbound, from N.W. Cornell Road. Bowman said, as he proceeded down the on ramp, his accelerator became stuck and he began to gain speed rapidly. He told police he moved into the left lane so he could take the next exit to try and fix the problem.

However, before he could reach the next exit, Bowman told police he lost control of his car, hitting a garbage truck, causing his Subaru to spin 360 degrees before leaving the roadway and coming to rest. Bowman estimated his speed to be approximately 80 mph before impact.

Scott Moore (32) had been driving a Garbarino Disposal truck. He told police he saw the Subaru come across all lanes of traffic, in front of his truck, striking it. Moore swerved to avoid hitting the car again, went over the embankment where the truck rolled. No one was injured as a result of the crash.

Jeff Bowman was cited and released at the scene for Reckless Driving, an "A" misdemeanor, which carries a maximum fine of $3,710.00 and up to one year in jail.
