(SALEM, Ore.) - According to Israeli Channel 7, on Monday, 31st of August, Turkey hosted an Israeli delegation for the first time since the raid on Gaza Flotilla ship Mavi Marmara, on May 2010. Political experts consider the recent visit by high-ranking Israel officials a major landmark in Turkey-Israel strained relations after 2010 Gaza flotilla incident. Mr. Gürün Sak was the chairman of Turkish delegation in the talks with the Israeli business representatives-- he is one of the most important pioneers of Turkish business associations and producers. In the past months Mr. Gürün Sak visited Palestinian occupied territories and began talks to develop a joint industrial zone in Jenin -- a Palestinian city in the northern occupied West Bank-- with a rojected approximate cost of $100 million. Israeli media hope that Turkey’s newly-appointed Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu, who was Ankara’s ambassador to Israel from 2002 until 2007, would be the harbinger of once warm ties with Turkey, the only Muslim, Middle Eastern member of the NATO. Despite the fact that Mr. Sinirlioglu will occupy the seat of Turkey’s Foreign Minister for only two months until the parliamentary election, his appointment as a pro-Israeli figure signifies President Erdoğan’s will to rebuild ties with the Zionist entity. During the past couple of years, Turkish officials claimed that they advocate for the Palestinian civilians against the Israeli atrocities but in fact, insiders say President Erdoğan and his cronies are just shedding crocodile tears for Palestinian war victims and secretly supporting the child-killing Israeli regime. _________________________________________
