Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 395 South of Lakeview

(LAKEVIEW, Ore) - Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday afternoon's single vehicle fatal traffic crash along Highway 395 about six miles south of Lakeview. The crash resulted in the death of an 82-year old man whose name and residence information is withheld pending next of kin notification.

On October 2, 2010 at approximately 2:19 p.m. a Pontiac Sunfire driven by the victim was northbound on Highway 395 near milepost 151 when it traveled into the east side ditch, skidded back across the highway into the west side ditch where it rolled and went through a fence. The victim was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

OSP troopers from the Lakeview office are continuing the investigation and attempts to notify next of kin.

Lake County Sheriff's Office, US Forest Service and BLM law enforcement officers, ODOT and Lakeview area emergency responders assisted at the scene.
