(LAKEWOOD, Wash.) - Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy and County Council Chairman Roger Bush offered this statement this morning, in the wake of an ambush-style Murder that left four police officers dead.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the slain officers, as well as their colleagues in the Lakewood Police Department."

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is the lead law enforcement agency in the investigation.

In addition, the Pierce County Department of Emergency Management is assisting by operating its call center to take tips.

"We urge anyone with information to call the tipline at 1-866-977-2362."
