(SALEM, Ore.) - A single car accident claimed the life of an Aumsville man early Sunday morning, just prior to 1:00 AM. The Marion County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 6300 block of Culver Drive SE to investigate a single motor vehicle crash, and a short time after arrival on scene, Marion County Fire determined the lone occupant and driver of the vehicle was deceased. 31-year old Kerry Cunningham, of Aumsville, was driving a red, 2000 Dodge Neon. He had apparently traveled off the paved portion of the roadway and down a slight embankment. Officials say the vehicle was traveling East bound on Culver Drive SE. when it left the roadway and had struck several smaller trees until it came to rest after impacting a large tree down the embankment. Marion County Sheriff's Office says that it is still unknown what, if any factors contributed to the crash. Multiple neighbors were interviewed and no other vehicles appear to have been involved in the crash.
