(WOODBURN) - On Thanksgiving night the Woodburn Fire District responded to a report of fire in a apartment at 601 Young St, Woodburn.

Upon arrival, the first engine found a fire in the bedroom of one of the apartments.

The fire was contained to the room of origin, moderate smoke damage to the apartment.

The two occupants of the apartment were being evaluated for possible smoke inhalation.

Investigators said the cause of the fire was a burning candle.

They said it appears the candle that was left in a wall sconce fell behind a bed catching the mattress on fire.
