(SALEM, Ore.) - A number of Zionist investors have purchased an island in Finland for 450 thousand euro in order to create an Israeli colony in Europe.

Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reports that the investors were searching for peace and tranquility.

The idea to purchase the island was spearheaded by Aviad Scheibitz of Hararit, Israel, who came to Finland for the first time with his wife on their honeymoon, Ynet reports.

They intend to create a colony of Israel for those who love nature. The island officially is called Petäjäsaari.

The names of some of the investors have been revealed. In addition to Aviad Scheibitz, investors include Amir Weil, Assaf Giller and Moti Shemtovi.

Some anti-Zionist Jewish groups have compared this action with occupation of Palestine by the Jews in 1948.
