No-Fee Adoptions Offered On All Black Cats & Kittens

Every adoptable cat or kitten will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

(SALEM) - In honor of the busiest shopping day of the year, Willamette Humane Society is hosting a special Black Friday adoption event starting at noon on Friday, November 25. Adoption fees will be waived on any black (or mostly black) cats or kittens adopted from the shelter Friday, November 25 through Sunday, November 27. The waived fee is also valid on any black cats adopted from Willamette Humane’s satellite adoption centers at the Keizer Station PETCO or at Nature’s Pet Market in South Salem.

Willamette Humane currently has approximately 30 black cats available for adoption. The regular $50 - $70 adoption fee will be waived on all cats and kittens that are predominantly black, including those with “tuxedo” (mostly black with some white markings) and “tortoiseshell” (black with mottled orange or cream markings) color patterns. Donations, of course, are still welcome to help offset the costs of care.

Every adoptable cat or kitten will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated before going home. All cat adoptions also include a certificate for a free health exam by a participating veterinarian, a personalized ID tag, temporary collar, carrier, and 30 days of pet health insurance.
