Bicyclist Inappropriately Grabs Jogger in Beaverton

Beaverton Police

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - On Monday at 6:30 p.m., the Beaverton Police Department was called to a report of harassment. When officers arrived a young lady explained she had been grabbed from behind by a subject on a bike.

The 29 year old victim told police she had been jogging westbound on the south side of S.W. Walker Road, roughly 200 yards east of S.W. 150th Avenue. She said a male bicyclist road up from behind, grabbing her in between her legs and then her breasts, all outside of her clothing.

The victim said she pushed the suspect away, yelled for help and ran over to the Union 76 Station, on S.W. Walker Road and S.W. 150th Avenue. Police arrived within a few minutes of receiving the call but were unable to locate the subject.

The suspect was wearing a brownish green hoodie with a small triangle shaped reflective emblem on the back and a black beanie covering his face. He rode a red mountain bike, with no lights, and said nothing during the encounter.

The incident occurred in a small, unlit area on the south side of Walker Road near the Nike campus. The Beaverton Police Department would like to encourage joggers to exercise with a partner, have a cell phone with you, stay in well lit areas and be alert as possible to your surroundings.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Beaverton Police Department at 503-629-0111.
