(GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore.) - A Monmouth-area woman was found deceased Saturday morning by someone walking on the beach of Salishan Spit. The victim is identified as 56-year old Joan Elizabeth Ten Eyck of Monmouth.

Police say there was no indication of foul play. The investigation will be continued by Oregon State Police with the assistance of the Lincoln County Medical Examiner's Office.

Saturday at approximately 8:30 AM, a report was received that the deceased body of a female was spotted after it had washed onto the beach of Salishan Spit south of Lincoln City.

Oregon State Police and Depoe Bay Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the scene but initially were unable to identify the woman because there was no identification with the body.

During the day, Lincoln City Police Department was contacted and advised by a group of women visiting the area that a member of their group had left a note at the residence where they were staying saying she was going to her favorite location in the Taft area to go agate hunting.

The note was found about 7:00 AM but the woman failed to return. Her car was found locked near the area where she was going to be, but her friends could not find her.
