(NEWBERG, Ore. ) - An accident Sunday morning on highway 99W near Sherwood killed two people and injured three, all were students at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Police say at 12:48 AM, four female students, all seniors, were driving south on 99W in a Ford Crown Victoria when a Ford Focus, driving north in the southbound lanes, rammed them head-on. Sherwood Police and bystanders removed the students from the Crown Victoria. Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue arrived and stabilized the injured students. One of the students, identified as 22-year-old Cara Morgan of Chandler, Arizona, died at the scene. The other three, were all seriously injured, and were identified as Faven Yirdaw of Portland, Arianne Reagor from Kelso, Washington, and Kim Cullen, also from Kelso. The driver of the Ford Focus was also killed. That person has not yet been identified. The families of the students were notified this morning. Students on the Newberg campus were informed by e-mail this morning. Following are excerpts from the e-mail from Brad Lau, vice president for student life: "I know all our hearts ache for the Moran family and Cara’s many friends among us." "This is a terrible tragedy and I trust we will continue to uphold one another in prayer and that God’s presence, peace, and strength will be very real among us. This is clearly one of those things that is difficult to understand this side of eternity. Again, please be in prayer for Cara’s family and friends during this time of deep sadness and loss as well as a quick and complete recovery for Arianne, Kim, and Faven. Of course, I’d also encourage you to pray for the family of the driver of the other vehicle as well." "Our prayer is that the “God of all comfort” will be near our entire community during this time as we mourn the loss of one of our own."
