Volunteers Help Four Families in Salem Affected by an 8-Unit Apartment Fire

The Red Cross is a charitable organization – not a government agency – and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.

(Salem, Oregon) - Volunteers with the American Red Cross responded to an 8-Unit apartment fire today at 8:30am, in the 3600 block of Fisher Road NE in Salem.

The fire was reported at approximately 11:30Pm last nigth. All tenants were able to escape the fire and no injuries were reported Red Cross volunteers provided 5-adults and 4-children with shelter, food, clothing and emotional support.

How to Help: In Oregon, the American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disaster every 20 hours; supplies more than 90 percent of Oregon's blood; teaches thousands of Oregonians lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
