At Least 153 Killed in Paris in Six Terror Attacks

(SALEM, Ore.) - Paris suffered six strikes of terror Friday night killing at least 153 people. The President of France has closed the borders to the country.

French President Francois Hollande has declared a state of emergency. "We have to show compassion and solidarity and we also have to show unity and keep our cool. France must be strong and great," he said.

The Paris prefecture of police said via Twitter that people should stay inside "unless there's an absolute necessity." They are closing down schools and most places that can attract a crowd, even grocery stores in some cases.

A concert hall, a soccer stadium, 2 restaurants and a bar were among those very populated venues that were targeted.

The band, Eagles of Death Metal, from the U.S., was performing at the Bataclan theater when gunmen burst in from the back of the crowd and opened fire at concertgoers.

The band members heard the shots and were able to leave through the back stage, according to Michael Dorio, brother of drummer Julian Dorio. They spoke about 20-30 minutes after the attack.

"He said he had been performing and heard the gunshots. They stopped playing and hit the deck and went backstage and exited," Michael Dorio told CNN.

According to survivors, the terrorists were dressed in black, without masks, and without body armor.

French radio DJ Julien Pearce was in the concert hall and was able to escape between gunfire, as the assailants reloaded. He told CNN that two men dressed in black started shooting AK-47s, and after wounded people fell to the floor, the two gunmen shot them again, execution-style, he said.

The two men didn't wear masks and he didn't hear them say anything, but he said one friend who escaped heard them speaking in French, talking about Iraq and Syria.

The gunfire lasted 10 to 15 minutes, sending the 1000+ concert crowd into a screaming panic, Pearce said. He said he saw 20 to 25 bodies lying on the floor. The terrorists held over 100 concertgoers hostage until French Security stormed the building. 4 gunmen were killed in the theatre, by police. 3 of them were wearing explosive belts.

The Deftones, who were set to perform three consecutive nights at Bataclan beginning tomorrow, are safe and accounted for, according to Substream Magazine.

112 people were killed inside the concert hall. The number of wounded is unknown. At least 14 people were killed in Le Petit Cambodge, a Cambodian restaurant.

One of the explosions at the Stade de France outside Paris appears to be a suicide bombing, a Western intelligence source receiving direct intelligence from the scene told CNN.

There has been no official claim of responsibility, though ISIS has apparently applauded the attacks on Twitter.

"This is an attack not just on Paris, not just on the people on France, but an attack on all humanity and the universal values we share," U.S. President Barack Obama said at the White House.

Large cities around the world are on heightened alert, though there is no credible or specific threat in the United States, according to a U.S. government official. An FBI spokesperson said the agency and the Department of Homeland Security were closely monitoring the unfolding events.

The US embassy is making every effort to account for all Americans in Paris. U.S. citizens in Paris who are safe are being asked by the State Department to call their families.
