Investigators Need Public's Assistance to Find Homicide Victim

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Bend Police Department are working together on the investigation into the death of Lori Blaylock, a 48-year-old Bend resident. Ms. Blaylock was reported missing by co-workers when she failed to report for work on November 2nd.

As the investigation developed, Bend Detectives began to focus their attention on Ms. Blaylock's husband, Steven Paul Blaylock. On Wednesday, November 10th, he was arrested and charged with murder. He remains in custody at the Deschutes County Jail in Bend.

Detectives believe Blaylock disposed of his wife's body in the area between Marion Forks and the town of Idanha along Highway 22 in Marion County. Her body may have been disposed of in the North Santiam River. The area of focus includes the forestland and river both east and west of the town of Idanha. The time period when this likely occurred was between Tuesday October 26th and Sunday, October 31st.

Search & Rescue teams; volunteers and detectives from many law enforcement agencies have searched an 11-square mile area along the river, but have yet to locate Ms. Blaylock.

We are now asking for the public's help.

Residents living along the Santiam River should search their property and report anything that may be related to this investigation. Please do not move or touch any evidence found.

Lori Blaylock is described as: White, female, 48 years of age, 5-7, 150 lbs., Brown hair, last seen wearing a black sweater with white stripes down each sleeve, jeans, white shoes. Missing Person flyer attached to this release.

Anyone traveling in this area during the noted times, should report any sightings of the suspect or the vehicle and utility trailer possibly used in this crime.

The vehicle is described as:

1993 Isuzu Trooper, white in color, with a roof rack and a spare tire mounted on the back (the cover on the tire says "Isuzu Trooper"), Oregon: 975 BBW. Photos are attached to this release.

The utility trailer is described as:

An enclosed "Cargo Express", 8' in length, white in color with damage to the left front corner. The trailer has large black letters on the back and right side that reads: "Nash Blaylock #707" and "Marley Blaylock #5." The trailer has an emblem on the back that reads: "706." Photos are attached to the release.

The suspect, Steven Paul Blaylock is described as: White, male, 46 years of age, 5-10, 170, medium length brown hair, no facial hair

Business owners along this route that have surveillance cameras installed in their businesses are asked to review the footage and report anything possibly connected to this investigation.

Anyone finding Ms. Blaylock's body should call 9-1-1 immediately.
