World War Two Prisoners of War to be Honored At Redondo Beach Veterans Day Service, 11 November

Keynote speaker is Marine General, Maj Gen. Melvin G. Spiese, USMC, retired.

Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial

(REDONDO BEACH) - Redondo Beach will observe Veterans Day 2013 at the Veterans Memorial in beautiful Veterans Park at the beach at 1 PM on Monday, the 11th of November.

The solemn observance will include reflection and remembrance, music, commentary and honors to all those members of the military who served their country. Veterans Day is a time to honor our military veterans.

Keynote speaker is Marine General, Maj Gen. Melvin G. Spiese, USMC, retired. Congressman Henry Waxman Chairmen of the Assembly Veterans Committee, Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi and Redondo Mayor Steve Aspel will participate.

The event will also honor several World War Two former prisoners of war.

The Redondo High School USMC Junior ROTC and Boy Scouts are supporting Veterans Day. The Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums and Redondo High Wind Ensemble will perform.

The event will also acknowledge the three year anniversary of the new Memorial. Donations and contributions still being accepted for the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial.
