(PORTLAND, Ore.) - A special event tonight at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts, offers a chance to travel through time with some the most popular songs of every war era, starting with the Revolutionary War right up through the present conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Organizers say those attending the performance will learn the historical significance of these period pieces, while enjoying the talents of some of Portland's best local entertainers. "A Tribute to Veterans" features performances by Richard Probasco, The Mount Hood Jazz Band, The Dennis Mitchell Band with The Kingsmen, The Brown Sisters, Two Sisters & a Mister, Paul & Gerutha Greenridge, Ken & Malinda Buckles. There alse will be a special choir of students from West Linn, Lake Oswego, Putnam, and Clackamas High Schools. The cost to attend the special event is $20.00 & $25.25.
