30-year-old Disabled Man Missing in Rural Washington County

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Update: Missing Disabled Man Found Unconscious, but Alive Today Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies took a report of a missing man in the North Plains area of unincorporated Washington County.

Thirty-year-old Jonathan Cupps left his home at about 12 a.m. this morning. He lives at 24647 NW Sky Ranch Road, North Plains. His caregivers told deputies he often walks around the area and later returns home. When Jonathan had not returned this afternoon they became concerned and called the Sheriff’s Office.

This area is 5.2 miles north of the City of Banks and 7.4 miles northwest of the city of North Plains. The area is heavily wooded and sparsely populated (click here for a map of the area).

The responding deputies searched the area roads and checked with local neighbors, but they were not able to locate Jonathan. Washington County Search and Rescue has been activated and they are currently conducting a search of the area with a small contingent of searchers. They have also called in a North Oregon Regional Search and Rescue (NORSAR) K9 search team to assist with the search. If Jonathan is not found tonight they will increase the number of searchers in the morning.

Jonathan has a mental disability and is unable to care for himself, he is also diabetic. He was last seen wearing blue shorts and possibly a green T-shirt. He was wearing one sandal and one tennis shoe. Jonathan is 5’2” – 5’5” tall and weighs 210 - 240 pounds. He has red hair and brown eyes.
