(SALEM, Ore.) - Cinebarre, the latest venue to open in Salem, promises to entertain the 18-and over crowd with the latest hit movies and a full restaurant menu, including beer and wine. The grand opening tonight will feature A Christmas Carol, The Box and The Fourth Kind, among other new releases. Although most showings will be of first-run films, Cinebarre's special events include important sports games, Oscar parties, and sometimes classics. Another Cinebarre played The Shining for Halloween. I went just last night and I greatly enjoyed the experience. I thought the service and the food were worth the price. I like Northern Lights, however I like having another option and both places are different enough to stay in business. I like the fact that no young children were allowed in (only 6 and up and with adult) the theater, it was quiet and I felt like heck... I could be an adult! I will be back to this theater no doubt about it!

This is a great idea. Who wants to pay exorbitant prices for junk food, when you can have a real meal before or after a flick? All that's missing, besides possibly pinball and the second a in jaguar?, is a "Cannabis Cafe" a la Madeline Martinez's brilliant "Rumpspankers" in Portland, where OMMP cardholders can safely (and legally) medicate so that they can enjoy the movies with everyone else. Oregon is really pressing the envelope, with cutting-edge ideas, and I think that entrepreneurs in cities throughout the rest of the nation would do well to emulate these innovations. I'm really impressed by Michelle Andujar. Beautiful and smart --- Que mas quieres?
