(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - The Oregon State women’s golf team will conclude its fall season at the inaugural Pac-10/SEC Women’s Golf Challenge Friday through Sunday at Stanford, Calif. The tournament includes 21 teams from the Pacific-10 Conference and Southeastern Conference playing 54 holes over three days at the par-71, 6,103-yard Stanford Golf Course. The field includes 10 teams ranked in the Top 25, including six of the top 10. Arizona State is only school from the two conferences not competing. “This is quite possibly the most competitive field we will face all year until we reach the NCAA Regional,” Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. “Our team has had two weeks between our last event and this one to prepare, which I think will benefit us immensely. This week we can elevate our confidence and our rankings with a sound performance.” Oregon State will go with juniors Whitney French and Elyse Okada, sophomore Chelsey Lind and freshmen Seshia Telles and Lauren Sewell. “Traditionally, we have played very well at the Stanford Golf Course,” Alexander said. “Whitney and Elyse have played the course eight times in their collegiate careers so it’s a course we play well and have had some experience on.” Tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Live scoring throughout the tournament will be available at www.golfstat.com. Articles for November 2, 2010 | Articles for November 3, 2010 | Articles for November 4, 2010 | Quick Links
