(EUGENE, Ore.) - The University of Oregon soccer team (7-8-3, 3-3-1), currently fifth in the Pac-10 Conference standings, will close out the regular-season on the road with contests at California (7-5-5, 2-4-1) and top-ranked Stanford (16-0-0, 7-0-0). The UO-Cal contest is set for Friday at 3 p.m. (PT), while the Oregon-Stanford match is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday. Stanford is 12-0-1 all-time against the Ducks, victors in last year’s match-up as well. Ducks Riding Winning Streak Ducks Move Up In Fourth Ncaa Rpi Report Published As part of its difficult non-conference schedule, the Ducks faced three teams currently ranking in the top 20 of the index (No. 2 Portland, No. 7 Oklahoma State and No. 20 Santa Clara). Seven Pac-10 Conference schools rank in the top 44 (No. 1 Stanford, No. 16 USC, No. 17 Oregon State, No. 23 UCLA, No. 24 Arizona State, No. 34 Washington, No. 44 California). The Ducks are at No. 97, Arizona is No. 99 while Washington State ranks No. 111. Stoltenberg Breaks Career Points Mark At Oregon Last Weekend’s Matches In Friday’s 4-0 stomping of the Wildcats, sophomore forward Mo Fitzgerald scored two goals and senior forward Rianna Mansfield and sophomore midfielder Maddy Mercier added a goal apiece. The Ducks held a commanding lead in shots taken (16-6) and shots on goal (7-1), and a 4-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities. UO had 10 players record shots on the night, with Mansfield and Fitzgerald registering a team-high three apiece. Fitzgerald, who played 68 minutes, scored on both of her shots on goal. Mercier, who played 44 minutes coming off bench, had two shots with the one shot on target. UO registered its third shutout of the season, with junior goalkeepers Lindsay Parlee and Cody Miles splitting time for the win. In Sunday’s 2-0 shutout of the Sun Devils, sophomore midfielder Scout Libke and senior midfielder Mercedes Walters tallied goals. UO junior goalkeeper Lindsay Parlee registered her second shutout of the season, and helped the Ducks to a second clean sheet in as many games. ASU finished the match with a 10-4 advantage in shots, but Oregon had a 3-2 edge in shots on goal. UO was called for 13 fouls to ASU’s 12. The Sun Devils, who also had a 5-2 advantage in corners, were offside twice. Oregon took four shots, coming from four different players, with Libke and Walters scoring on their only shots in the match. Sophomore midfielder Nicole Bakke, who was issued a caution in the 59th minute, had one shot which was on target. Freshman forward Brynne Konkel added the other shot for the Ducks. Erickson Breaks Oregon All-Time Coaching Wins Mark Erickson has a 10-year overall coaching record of 83-88-23 with stints at Portland State (four years, 2001-04) and Oregon (six years, 2005-present).
