Driver Escapes Injuries in Serious Car Fire (PHOTOS)

A blow out caused the driver to lose control, the vehicle then went between two 6" Diameter size trees hitting both, then striking some bushes, before traveling through a small parking lot.

(TANGENT) - A car fire was reported at Hwy 99E and Old Hwy 34 in Tangent Halloween night, the call came in around 7:20 p.m. according to All Dennis Weis with the Tangent Fire Dept.

Investigators say this happened as a result of a blown out front tire. The problem occurred while the driver of the white mini an was heading south on Hwy 99E.

The blow out caused the driver to lose control, the vehicle then went between two 6" Diameter size trees hitting both, then striking some bushes, before traveling through a small parking lot.

The van continued, crossing a sidewalk on Old Hwy 34 before ending up as shown in Linn Benton Farm implement yard. The vehicle caught fire after coming to a stop.

The driver was not hurt and the van's air bag deployed. Linn County Sheriff, Albany and Tangent Fire Dept responded to the call.
