(GOVERNMENT CAMP) - Four individuals lost their lives in a crash Sunday afternoon 8 miles east of government Camp and investigators are trying to figure out what went wrong to cause such a catastrophic loss. See the original story here: http://www.salem-news.com/articles/may72006/Fatal_GovCamp_5706.php State Police say they responded to the fatal crash report at about 1:20 PM Sunday, locating the wreckage of a black 1999 BMW and a 2004 Dodge Intrepid on US Hwy 26 near milepost 63.7. Oregon State Police Spokesman Greg Hastings says they are hoping someone may have seen the vehicles prior to the crash, "We are asking for the public's assistance in locating anyone who might have been eastbound on US Hwy 26 near the time of the crash. We are specifically interested in anyone who may have seen a 1999 black BMW 328i 4 door, prior to the crash, traveling eastbound." "This would have been in the area of US Hwy 26 / milepost 60-63.7, between 1:15 PM to 1:25 PM on 5-7-06." Anyone with information is asked to call The Dalles Area Command of the Oregon State Police at (541) 296-9646, Senior Trooper Dehaven at extension #5322.
