(SALEM) - The odds are good that anyone with an interest in animals will enjoy the Willamette Humane Society`s Pet Fair this Saturday, May 6th.

Sara Labberton, spokesperson for the Humane Society, says like last year, there will be all kinds of things to see and do, `In addition to the great adoptable animals we always have at the shelter, we`ll be hosting pet-related vendors and rescue groups, a caricature artist, a band, and adoptable horses."

She says informative classes will be held throughout the day and there will be a `Best Dressed Pet" contest at 2:00 PM. The winner will receive a gift certificate to Davenport`s Den, the retail store located in the shelter that benefits the facility. `We are raffling off four unique pet beds decorated by students at the Oregon College of Art & Craft. Papa`s Pizza will be with us selling lunch."

Labberton says it is a unique chance for a family to have an afternoon of fun with all the animals at Willamette Humane Society and also an opportunity to learn many things about how to help through volunteer activities or professional careers in the field.
