Badly Decayed Body Recovered from Willamette River Near St. Johns Bridge

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner who will attempt identification through autopsy and other information found.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - A boater spotted a human body floating in the Willamette River Saturday morning near the St. Johns Bridge.

Multnomah County River Patrol Deputies responded to the area and recovered the remains which they describe as beinbg in the late stages of decomposition. A boater traveling in the area made the discovery around 9:10 AM and notified authorities regarding a body floating in the river.

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jason Gates says the remains were released to the Multnomah County Medical Examiner who will attempt identification through autopsy and other information found with the deceased.

At this time we are only releasing that the deceased is an adult, male/white until other identification efforts have been exhausted.
