(THE DALLES, Ore.) - Police say an interagency investigation in the death Sunday of a 24-year old man in The Dalles led to the arrest of two people, including an 18-year old The Dalles resident on Manslaughter, Assault and Burglary charges. Both men are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday afternoon in Wasco County Circuit Court.

The Dalles Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive person at a residence in the 2400 block of E. 10th Street Sunday at 10:05 AM.

They say that upon arrival, 24-year old Bernardino Peral Sanchez of The Dalles, was found deceased. An autopsy is scheduled Tuesday at the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office to determine the exact cause of death, but the preliminary investigation indicates the victim died of blunt force trauma to the head and no weapons were involved.

The ongoing investigation by The Dalles Police Department, Wasco County Sheriff's Office, and Oregon State Police led to Sunday's arrest of two people who were lodged in the Northern Oregon Regional Correction Facility.

18-year old Jamia Long of The Dalles, was arrested for recklessly causing the victim's death for Manslaughter in the Second Degree; Burglary in the First Degree for entering the victim's residence with the intent to commit the crime of assault; and, Assault in the Third Degree for causing physical injury to another person while being aided by another person.

20-year old Selu King of The Dalles, was arrested on charges arising from the same incident involving Long for Burglary in the First Degree and Assault in the Third Degree.

The defendant's are scheduled to appear in Wasco County Circuit Court by video arraignment at 1:00 PM.

Additional information will be provided through the Wasco County District Attorney's Office.

i think that the situation is VERY sad! i know mia personally and i know that he is a great kid. if you know him then you know that him and his family are very sad and hurt that this ACCIDENT happened. i along with his family and friends support him along with his mistakes. i feel for the family and friends of the young man who died in this situation. its is very sad but you need to remember it happened to all of them. these boys did not mean to kill that boy

I think what Elmo says is a little harsh, but I do know that they knew exactly what they were doing. I know they've beat up many other's pretty bad and have never have charges pressed but they're known to fight and nearly beat others to death giving them concussions and other injuries, as well as getting drunk on the regular basis. I do believe they should be put in jail for a LONG time though.

before we judge these individuals we should gets all the circumstances that led to this accidental death. These are young kids that meant no fatal harm, who are we to say that they had intentions to kill. Instead of being judgemental calling them trash we should have empathy towards them and the situation that they are going though from this point on.

These pieces of trash should be put to death. The sooner, the better.
