Fatal Crash Halts US-95 Traffic near California Border

State Police troopers say the highway is completely blocked to all traffic for an extended, unknown period of time.

(OREGON/CALIFORNIA State line) - Oregon State Police are on the scene of a fatal traffic crash at milepost 107 on U.S. Highway 95. It apparently involved several vehicles and one commercial vehicle fire.

This section of Highway 95 is just north of Oregon / California border, fifteen miles north of McDermitt, Oregon.

This crash is expected to severely disrupt travel plans that are leading people from Oregon to Reno, Nevada.

State Police troopers say the highway is completely blocked to all traffic for an extended, unknown period of time, as they continue to investigate what happened.

Police say it is a multi-vehicle crash that occurred sometime before 7:00PM. ODOT states at 10:00 PM that the road will be closed for at least two more hours.
