(SALEM, Ore.) - The parent company of Candlewood Suites hotels has announced this week that they will build a new hotel in Salem. A company representative says this will be the first Candlewood Suites property in this area. The extended-stay hotel is scheduled to break ground spring 2008. “Candlewood Suites hotels are carefully designed to meet the particular needs of longer-staying guests,” said Gina LaBarre, vice president, Brand Management, Candlewood Suites. The new facility they are constructing will be an midscale extended-stay hotel, where they anticipate guests will typically stay an average of 14 nights. They add that in this type of hotel, some guests stay for months at a time as well. The new property will be located at the intersection of Silverton Road and Fisher Road in Salem. It will have 83 rooms. The tentative opening date is in the Spring of 2009, and the hotel is expected to create 12 full-time positions. There are more than 130 Candlewood Suites hotels throughout the U.S. They describe their hotel rooms as spacious studio and one-bedroom suites, each with its own fully equipped kitchen, executive desk, DVD and CD players, recliners and telephone with voice mail plus free local calls. The property will have a complimentary fitness center and complimentary guest laundry room open around the clock. Candlewood Suites has 147 hotels in the development pipeline, including its first international property scheduled to open next month in Montreal, Canada. Gina LaBarre added, “When business or personal matters require travel for a week or more, guests find that the design of our guest suites and the amenities we provide allow them to live comfortably and keep a daily routine similar to that of home.” Articles for May 23, 2007 | Articles for May 24, 2007 | Articles for May 25, 2007 | Quick Links
