Israel Pushing Obama Toward War with Iran

OK. I'm not being flippant or anti-Semitic here... but... really... tell me again why the USA and Israel are such close allies? And why should American G.I.'s fight and die in the Middle East? If I'm not mistaken, Israel is a Nuclear power... they have THE BOMB and the most sophisticated, anti-terrorist military in the world. Israel can more than take care of itself... are you old enough to remember the SIX DAY WAR when Israel annihilated the total armed forces of all it's neighboring enemies? They don't need us or want us to tell them how to run a country... so why do they need us to fight a war for them? I believe that Israel has the right to exist as a State just as any other country has the right to exist. They are major players on the World Stage and they can defend themselves very nicely, thank you. With Osama bin Laden and the goon from Iraq dead... why-the-hell are we still fighting in those hell-holes? To quote the present Speaker of The House... "We're broke." And in effect said that the Unites States of America cannot afford to look after it's elderly, impoverished, young, displaced, VETERANS, farms, industry, infrastructure but we can afford to send troops to all points of the Globe to fight and spend BILLIONS doing it! Does anyone else see the wrongness of this?
