Bedouin Traditional Wedding a Reflection of Gaza Identity

(GAZA CITY) - Bedouins in Gaza have a special way of celebrating their weddings. A traditional wedding practices by some Bedouins in parts of the Gaza Strip, are held in the summer.

The ceremony involves the invitation of horseback riders, who are invited to the event.

Gazans set up a large tent to host their special visiting guests, and the weddings are marked by the placement of a white flag, which means anyone who sees the flag is invited to attend their special celebration.

Rezeq Abu Ghadir of Gaza, is a relative of the groom at this Gaza wedding.

He says, "We will hold onto our traditional wedding celebrations, it reminds us of our lands and the lands in the desert from which we were driven out in 1948."

He says it is a great feeling to see people from all walks of life share their joy.
