Gilad Atzmon LIVE in Portland Tonight

DON'T MISS IT (& Bring your friends!) 6:30 pm @ the East Portland Community Center

Gilad Atzmon
Gilad Atzmon is performing on the West Coast the last two weeks of his tour.

(PORTLAND, OR) - We are thrilled to share the good news that Gilad Atzmon will be in Portland, Oregon TONIGHT (Tues May 14). It is a rare opportunity to be up close and personal with the one and only -- world renowned Jazz musician, author and human rights activist, Gilad Atzmon.

Gilad has been on tour for seven months, and is now in the last two weeks of the tour.

Atzmon was born in Israel, and therefore served (compulsory) in the Israeli Army. It was there that his eyes were opened to the injustice of the Israeli government, especially toward others.

Jazz was where he found his calling, and the road to his future. Saxophone by his side, he traveled and performed, and learned to see his home country's government from an enlightened perspective. Zionism became a term worthy of admonishment to say the least.

Atzmon is clear that Zionism is separate from Judaism. He is also clear on what he knows via personal experience. He is very critical of extreme Israeli policies and the US's support of them.

He is solidly against the hardline treatment of the Palestinian people, and has compared the abuse of Palestinians to the way Jews were treated in Nazi Germany. Harsh perhaps, but it is a harsh subject. That one comparison has drawn a lot of criticism, and accusations about his loyalties. Anyone who reads his book, The Wandering Who, would have no such concerns.

Come to the performance and hear his music and his words. The honest words of truth, seeking justice, in the quest to find peace. DON'T MISS IT (& Bring your friends!)
