(AMERICA DO SUL / SALEM) - Travis Logie was ripping it up today at the Billabong Rio Pro in Brazil today.

Riding SUPERbrand Surfboards by Nuno Matta shaped in Portugal, this South African pro is one of the top riders competing in the circuit on European surfboards.

The world's top-ranked professional surfers are competing in this annual event that is the focus of the industry and sport and will continue to be over the next six days.

Having experienced a successful stint on the ASP World Tour once before, the South African is back after a motivating 2009 where Travis did very well in the WQS. 2010 landed Travis a 30 spot on the rating board and Travis has high hopes to up that in 2011.

At this moment happens in Brazil, the WT Billabong Pro, where the best surfers are competing.

"The South African, Travis Logie is one of the best surfers in the world and is competing with European boards, shaping by the Portuguese Nuno Matta of SUPERbrand," Gonçalo Matta of the Superbrand shop in Portugal, told Salem-News.com.

Compared to a quick-drawing pistoleer from the Old West, Travis has made a name for himself on tour as having one of the fastest backhand and forehand approaches in the game.

This Durban, South African, Logie is the newest addition on the tour and everyone is taking notice.
