Special Guest Dr. Ahmet Dogan Joining US Boat to Gaza Event

(NEW YORK) - A special guest, Dr. Ahmet Dogan, will joining the US Boat to Gaza event later in May. Dr. Dogan is the father of Furkan Dogan, the 19-year old Turkish and American dual citizen killed by Israeli forces on the Mavi Mamara, one of the boats in Freedom Flotilla I bound for Gaza last year.

Immediately after learning about the attack on the flotilla the organizing for the U.S. BOAT TO GAZA, THE AUDACITY OF HOPE began. Now it is a reality and soon we will sail.

The group stated in a news release:

"Let us come together to hear Dr. Dogan speak about his son and honor Furkan Dogan's commitment to justice for Palestine and look forward to the launch of THE AUDACITY OF HOPE as we affirm our commitment to help end the siege of Gaza and free Palestine."

It can not be overemphasized how important each endeavor of this nature is to the world. Americans lived with Jim Crow laws for generations after the freeing of the slaves, and as bad as that is, today it truly is history as policy.

The position of Palestinians under the Israeli occupation, particularly those in Gaza, openly abused in front of the world for too long, is not a political one. It is about the preservation of humanity.
