(BEAVERTON) - Just after midnight this morning, Tualatin Valley firefighters responded to a report from a panicked caller stating that there was a fire at 6355 SW Lombard Avenue in Beaverton.

Within five minutes firefighters arrived to find black smoke showing from the two-story home, which is surrounded by a large apartment complex.

Fortunately all seven tenants who rent the home had safely evacuated.

Two people were treated by firefighter paramedics for smoke inhalation and one was transported by Metro West Ambulance to St. Vincent's hospital for further evaluation.

Within twenty minutes firefighters extinguished the fire which consumed the basement of the home and extended to a portion of the first floor.

A fire investigator remains on scene at this hour conducting interviews with tenants.

He will begin processing the home later this morning to determine where the fire started and gather clues about what may have started the blaze.

All seven tenants have places to stay and there is no damage estimate at this time.

It is uncertain whether there were working smoke alarms in the home.

Nearly 30 fire personnel from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue responded to the fire.
