Obama and Clinton Doing Battle in Oregon

Wizard 101 you made many fine points and no matter who wins the democratic nomination, either Clinton or Obama, they will be pretty bloodied up. I must admit that the observation you made about the 20 or so years with that Pastor, and with monthly, sometimes weekly newsletters that went out to congregation members that provided text from the previous week's sermon, concerns me that Obama needs to address those questions about what he really did know. This will be an issue that will see so much air time thhrough the summer and right up to election day that it will make even his most ardent supporters to demand a more cogent answer to what did he know, and when did he know it? I realize he responded that he never heard the racist vitriol, but it just strains credulity that even in social settings with friends and fellow congregation members he never heard about what this Pastor was saying. To be a real leader you need to have your ear to the ground and know what's going on around you, so did he, or didn't he? I realize some of you may flame me for wanting more information, but I am not alone, and the numbers will only increase as this is further analyzed and televised in many different configurations.

I know these comments will not influence any voters but I am compelled to type this. For those that have been told that there was no way to obtain their dreams and hopes - look towards HILLARY CLINTON as a symbolic figure of hope and possibility - the only experienced canddidate with solutions to our every day problems from healthcare to gas tax relief to student loans and many more. For a year now I have been trying to determine what Obama means and how he could go about HOPE and CHANGE - I think he means change in Washington DC with the old style politicans yet accepts the endorsements from Kennedy and Kerry and many others - he is just an old style Washington DC politican. HOPE - I have watched the Clintons for decades giving HOPE to communities from California to Mississippi from shelters for the sick and homeless to jobs for the unemployed - recently Bill and Brad Pitt were in New Orleans giving HOPE to that community for reconstruction - Hillary attended a rally there a little later for the same purpose even though she did not receive the black vote - Obama was too busy with his campaign to attend - just another old style politican. And then we have the problem with the Pastor - after 20 years unaware of his viewpoints - I DO NOT want someone in the White House that after 20 years might be unaware of Iran, Russia, China and N. Korea - and then the relationships with the likes of Ayers, Rezko and Pastor Wright - the ones we know about - what about the ones we do not know exists. This is a time when my fellow brothers and sisters in Oregon can make the decision on who our next President will be - do not make the mistake that was made 4 years ago - I sincerely believe that a majority of democrats will move over to the Republicans, I am one included, if Obama is the nominee - and then another 4 years of the Republicans - Obama should be ready by then.
