(IRRIGON, Ore.) - One person was killed and three others seriously injured in a single vehicle rollover crash on Highway 730 near Irrigon, Oregon early Monday morning.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Mike Turner says today at approximately 5:50 a.m., a green Plymouth Voyager van operated by 26-year old Gina Perez of Boardman, Oregon was westbound on Highway 730 at milepost 171 when it left the roadway and overturned at least one time.

"Three of six occupants in the van were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled," Turner said.

He says those who were ejected included 32-year old Ishmael Garcia of Hermiston, Oregon who had been riding in the left center seat of the vehicle and 25-year old Jacob Ramirez of Hermiston, Oregon who had been in the right center seat.

Garcia sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston, Oregon where he was treated and released.

"Troopers investigating the crash found Garcia to be in possession of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. He was cited and released for Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine," Turner said.

Ramirez sustained serious injuries and was flown by Life Flight to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon for treatment.

The third occupant who was ejected from the vehicle, 26-year old Roberto Perez of Boardman, Oregon, was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Roberto Perez had been seated in the right front passenger seat at the time of the crash.

The three other occupants of the van who were not ejected also sustained injuries according to Turner.

The driver of the vehicle, Gina Perez, was flown to Kadlec Medical Center in Kennewick, Washington for treatment of serious injuries.

25-year old Toni Taylor of Hermiston Oregon who had been riding in the center seat of the vehicle, was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital where she too was treated for serious injuries.

17-year old Jacob Perez of Boardman, Oregon who had been seated in the rear of the Plymouth van received minor injuries. He was transported to Good Shepherd, treated and released, Turner said.

Troopers are still in the process of investigating the crash and are trying to determine why the Plymouth van left the roadway. Turner says it is unknown at this time if any of the occupants of the vehicle were using safety restraints.

Assisting at the scene were the Morrow County Sheriffs Office, Oregon Department of Transportation and Irrigon Ambulance.
