Hypocrisy of US War on Terrorism

(MANAMA, Bahrain) - "I don't have a single American friend," said Tamarlan Tsarnaev "I don't understand them."
Boston terrorism has been squelched: Tamarlan, dead in a police shoot-out left his younger brother Dzhokar wounded in the hospital.
Commonly terrorism refers to violent acts intended to create fear (terror); are perpetrated for a religious, political or, ideological goal; and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants (civilians).
However, where appropriate, "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."
Reviewing the book Terrorism of the State, Ron Jacobs asks some penetrating questions:

“Is it the actor that determines whether or not an act is terroristic? Why is the US hesitant to accept the commonly held definition of terrorism? Is the reason because doing so would indict the United States as a terrorist state?”
Professor William Odom, formerly President Reagan's NSA Director wrote: "Because the United States itself has a long record of supporting terrorists and using terrorist tactics, the slogans of today's war on terrorism merely makes the United States look hypocritical to the rest of the world."
Because of vigilance since 9/11 says Irfan Husain, "terrorism in the U.S. has virtually been stamped out. It is precisely because of this success that the Boston attack has caused so much fear and outrage."
It doesn't require genius to predict that, in America, Muslims other than Arabs or Iranians will have increased attention paid to their activities.
Alex Seitz-Wald, writing in Salon, puts it in perspective: "Chechen terrorism may be less familiar to most Americans than that carried out by fighters from the Middle East or Afghanistan and Pakistan, but Chechen separatists have fought a long and bloody war against Russia in the region’s long war of independence from Moscow."
MKO an American sponsored terrorist organization, now in a camp on the border between Iraq and Iran, has been responsible for thousands of assassinations in Iranian cities.
According to Aletho, The German Interior Ministry confirmed the initiation of the processes required for granting asylum to 100 MKO terrorists. That makes both Germany and America sponsors of terrorism.
I just finished reading the stories of dozens of young Palestinian boys, between the ages of six and 18 who have been arrested by Israeli police.
Accused, at most, of throwing stones at Israeli armoured vehicles, these boys were put in solitary confinement, given electric shock, had their heads beaten against a wall and kicked until they passed out.
Before they were released, they were told not to discuss their arrests or punishment with anyone or they or their family would pay a price of more suffering.
These young Palestinian children, having done nothing wrong, have been the victims of Israel's forces of terror.

Remember, the distinguishing features of terrorism include a person, organization or country with the power to take action that will instil fear in others.
Terrorists can be people we might not normally consider as such.
Members of Congress are frightened by threats posed by lobbyists/terrorists like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Media executives have utilized their terrorist power to frighten reporters or anchors away from telling the truth.
The fear goes with the job. Someone like Chris Hedges loses a job at the New York Times for his political honesty; and that frightens a multitude of people in the industry.
Similarly, someone like Norman Finkelstein loses his university tenure, and academics around the country are frightened by the terrorism of Alan Dershowitz.
What's in a name? That which we call a terrorist by any other name would smell as vile.

TO: Anonymous May 4, 2013 1:22 pm / your definition also include say invaded countries like Kuwait, South Korea, South Vietnam, ancient Europe by Genghis Khan etc.? How about those one million plus Europeans that were kidnapped and enslaved by Muslims? Or the millions of dark skinned Africans enslaved by Muslims? The latter is still going on. I for one, as with the majority of Americans understand who our enemies are and that we need to kill everyone of them...you cannot negotiate with evil, you just cannot.

For all the definitions, points and counterpoints on the syntax (meaning the linguistic phrases themselves) and the semantics (meaning their contextual meaning), that I have witnessed in Westerndom, specifically ever since I became a student of Noam Chomsky in his foreign policy classes at MIT as the very green behind the ears younglet studying electrical engineering and dabbling in self-awareness with the help of the most important intellectual alive in America, none surpasses what Noam Chomsky wrote on the backcover of one of his many books, a quote from St. Augustine. Subsequently, I had the opportunity to read the principal work of Augustine titled: The City of God against the Pagans. St. Augustine of Hippo is considered by many political theorists in the Western academe as being among the most important and foundational political theologists of Christendom upon which the edifice of modern Western civilization is linked. And equal to his lofty station, Augustine of Hippo captured in the most eloquent and succint manner the complete semantics of the topic touched upon in this brief article by Prof. Dr. Paul J. Balles. A topic upon which books upon books have been written throughout the twentieth and this early twentyfirst century, but still unable to express the full and universal semantics in a nutshell in the way of the original master in 300-400 A.D.:
“When the King asked him what he meant by infesting the sea, the pirate defiantly replied: 'the same as you do when you infest the whole world; but because I do it with a little ship I am called a robber, and because you do it with a great fleet, you are an emperor.'” (The City of God against the Pagans, Page 148).

Anon. @ 12:37 the planned bombing of Iraq, ahhh, did that planning happen before Saddam invaded Kuwait and set the oil fields on fire? Or was it sometime during the 17 UN resolutions? When you take your meds, what all are you on?

definition of terrorist? How about, a country that invades one contry after another, that is/was no threat, either to liberties or military wise. Killing tens of thousands invading a country while fibbing its for "humanitarian" reasons. (look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, they are much worse off since the west invaded, they are in civil war now, etc)..Or how about indefinite detention and torture without trial? would that be a terrorist? Or how about the banker bailout supported by obama and bush, where the banks basically said "give us trillions of dollars or we will collapse the economy" wouldnt that be a financial terorist? I thought the U.S. did not negotiate with terrorists? I could do this all day, but if you dont get the point by now, you never will.

The reason there were no attacks after 911, is becuase the powers to be did a big enough grandstand at 911 to last them for years. (research building 7) Taking away our liberties, bombing Iraq (which was planned years before, they just needed an excuse), etc. obama and bush are controlled by the same puppeteers. They both supported the banker bailout, ( a crime), they both support Patriot Act and NDAA (a crime), and both are up for being accused of war crimes via congressional hearings. The next step after taking our liberties, was to make eveyone dependent on the state, thus, sending our jobs to China, which in turn, China would buy U.S. dollars. As far as calling the brothers murderers, typical obama supporter, guilty until proven innocent, and they wont get the chance to prove if they were innocent. Cybil Edmonds worked for the CIA/FBI, not only proven but she was issued a gag order not to speak out. The chechen rebels in Russia are CIA backed. Russia decided to let the U.S. blame the chechen brothers, in order for Russia to be able to take out the CIA operatives in Chech, which they did, look it up.. In return, they would turn a blind eye to the invasion of Syria. Which is now happening. So, you tell me, was Cybil correct when she said this weeks ago? Seems so to me. The game is bigger than most know, and listening to some of the rhetoric by posters and authors gets quite upsetful sometimes. They read a news article, without even checking the author, they spend very little time researching etc. Just a bunch of people with their own ignorant ideas, who have done zero research. And osama died in 2011 of kidney disease. And most, if not all, of the seal team that was at the osama fraud event are dead. Look it up yourself. If you people want to live in the false matrix, go ahead, but do it without thinking you know something and writing articles and/or posting. You want the false matrix? then go enjoy it and leave the rest of us who actually spend hours a day on research alone. Go back to your tv and sports events.

Ralph Stone it's very important to label terrorists when they commit acts of terror. Please note that after 9/11 under Bush we had no attacks here because of very competent leadership. Under Obama there have been 5 acts of terrorism. Suicide rates have quadrupled under Obama, and millions are unemployed and not even counted in the unemployment rate. Expect far more terrorist acts because of this feckless Obama.

I dont know if Dr. Paul reads the comments here, but may I add. Whistleblower that worked in the CIA, Sybil Edmonds says "The Chechen rebels are CIA operatives. A deal was made with Russia. Let Russia stomp out the CIA controlled Checnans, and the west can invade Syria. This is not true. muslims/islam did not do 911, and the only thing being "stamped out" are patriots in the U.S., those believeing in Christ (not the 501c3 church goers, but the true believers in Christ), those that think the Constitution should be our rule of law, gun owners and veterans. Since the west birthed and control alCIAda, they are an asset to the west, not a terrorist organization to be afraid of. For the western bankers of course, who knows if the western bankers will use alCIAda here in the U.S. They use them in most other countries. A good article overall tho, I just wanted to throw my two cents in. By the way, salon.com is probably one of the most disinfo websites I have come across, keep that in mind. Whether or not the Tsarnaev brothers are considered terrorists or not is really beside the point. By putting a terrorist label on them, it just romanticizes their actions for some. Let's call them what they are -- cowardly, murdering criminals.
