I'm no fan of the church and all it represents, but Annett seems to think every individual in the organization is responsible for what happens at the top and they are not. This nun, (The story does not reference her being Catholic, I suppose she probably is, but she calls herself only Christian) is trying to explain simple truth, looks like Mr. Annett is perfectly content with the misery of the Syrian people, in fact he scarcely addresses the point of this story at all.

Isn't it just peachy-keen how a Mother Superior in Ireland, with loads of Syrian experience has all the answers for peace in the Middle East? We're so lucky that she paused in her washing the feet of the poor long enough to set us all straight. The new Holy Father in Rome the other day also called for peace in Syria - isn't that neat? Think of all the problems this duo has to contend with - trashing the Vatican Bank and distributing the proceeds to the world's poor, winding up the Magdalen Laundries in Ireland and setting all those unfortunate girls up in business for themselves, even setting up Boys' Towns for all those liberated altar boys. We're so fortunate to have such religious leaders.When they get time, maybe they could fix the American Congress or tell Canada how to create a Republic.Now there are a couple of real challenges.
