FSA Terrorists through the Eyes of a Nun - Interview with Mother Agnes Mariam

"Non violence is the best way to get what we want."

Interview with Mother Agnes Mariam
Interview with Mother Agnes Mariam

(DUBLIN) - Mother Agnes Mariam and other religious leaders are trying to illustrate a 'third' way to deal with Syria. She stands opposed to the endless war that has gripped this country.

They want human rights for all - particularly the normal citizens caught in the crossfire, and strongly object to outsider Free Syrian Army rebels who operate like mafia.

U.S. and British politicians and media are clearly in favor of the Syrian jihadist 'rebels' who have caused the deaths of countless Syrians, but the reports delivered by the talking heads are calling for war and armed intervention from Americans.

"Collective abuse," beheadings, abductions, sexual attacks, torture and murder; moderate Muslims and those loyal to the Syrian government; Syrian people are living in constant fear.

Mother Agnes Mariam says the international community holds a Paradox - "We want peace we want to protect the civilian population, they even want to intervene in a military way, but on the other hand, they are funding, sending intelligence help and sending weapons to rebels..."

The truth about Syria and the so-called "Free Syrian Army" is often obscured by Western media that portrays them as freedom fighters.

However, no better perspective can be given about these mercenary terrorists from Al Qaeda than through this Christian nun (Mother Agnes Mariam) who lived in Syria for a long time and understands the current situation in Syria very well.

Loosen up, Eli. Who mentioned "every individual in the organization?" And I'm sorry if I affronted all those protestant nuns in Ireland.I'm as concerned about misery in Syria as you are, and I hope that the three or four factions there sort things out without any help from the Vatican.

What kind of bigoted comment is that? I'm no fan of the church and all it represents, but Annett seems to think every individual in the organization is responsible for what happens at the top and they are not. This nun, (The story does not reference her being Catholic, I suppose she probably is, but she calls herself only Christian) is trying to explain simple truth, looks like Mr. Annett is perfectly content with the misery of the Syrian people, in fact he scarcely addresses the point of this story at all.

Isn't it just peachy-keen how a Mother Superior in Ireland, with loads of Syrian experience has all the answers for peace in the Middle East? We're so lucky that she paused in her washing the feet of the poor long enough to set us all straight. The new Holy Father in Rome the other day also called for peace in Syria - isn't that neat? Think of all the problems this duo has to contend with - trashing the Vatican Bank and distributing the proceeds to the world's poor, winding up the Magdalen Laundries in Ireland and setting all those unfortunate girls up in business for themselves, even setting up Boys' Towns for all those liberated altar boys. We're so fortunate to have such religious leaders. When they get time, maybe they could fix the American Congress or tell Canada how to create a Republic. Now there are a couple of real challenges.
