(BANDON, Ore.) - A 41-year old man from Langlois, Oregon died Saturday night in a single vehicle crash on Highway 101 south of Bandon. Police say the victim's name will be released once next of kin notification has been confirmed.

According to Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Fred Dunlap, Saturday night at approximately 10:25 p.m., a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup operated by the victim was southbound on Highway 101 near milepost 285 when it crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway and traveled into a ditch. The pickup struck an embankment and overturned.

Dunlap says the victim was not using safety restraints and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He says the cause of the crash is still under investigation, but confirmed that highway conditions were wet.

OSP troopers from the Coos Bay Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

Bandon Police Department, Bandon Fire Department, Amling Schroeder Funeral Home and Mast Brothers Towing assisted at the scene.
