Socialized Medicine for Members of Congress, Who Pays for it? You do

We call this social benefits for the rich!

For some reason, these guys never have to worry.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - The concept of Socialization is that everybody pays for it and everybody benefits. What is wrong with that? The worst thing is that somewhere along the line the whole process got severely perverted by congress itself.

We have socialized highways, socialized water and sewage systems, socialized electricity and socialized schools up to the 12th grade. Maybe the latter is a poor example. The educational system is suffering but that is a different story. I trust you get my gist.

Another of the socialized systems is medical education. Tuition here is murderously high (up to $50,000/year – I have posted about this) but even then medical education is partially paid for by taxes on everybody. The lower middle class and the lowest class receive little benefit unless they are brought by ambulance for an extremely serious medical problem in which the hospital supposedly MUST accept them. It doesn’t happen too often.

People who do not earn enough money for adequate medical insurance up until the recent Health Care Bill have been stuck with the expense and usually face bankruptcy and loss of home with a serious medical problem. This has been so even though they and ALL others have been paying taxes to pay for medical education for ALL doctors.

Getting back to members of Congress, other high ranking government employees, and even other down the salary scale. Their medical care has been heavily subsidized by everybody else! This IS socialized medicine for the wealthy. Some may consider that these government employees are NOT wealthy but most of them are making more money than most others! I didn’t say EARNING money, although I am sure some are really hard workers. Everybody who know anything about the medical insurance for members of Congress et cetera KNOWS they have the best and probably most expensive medical insurance in the world. Who do you think ultimately pays for the insurance company lobbyists who reportedly spent $400,000,000 trying to block the recently passed Health Care Bill??

Thousands if not millions of taxpayers supporting the medical care industry have died from lack of medical care even though they paid for it with their taxes.

President Obama, who really knows about the health care disparity because his mother died as a victim, said repeatedly “If the medical insurance plan of Congress is good enough for them it should be good enough for the rest of the taxpayers who pay for it”. (I don’t think I’m putting words in the presidents mouth).

I am exalted to see this new medical insurance plan. I practiced medicine in a small, low wage town. Many of my patients did not have money for office visits OR medicine. I got as many sample drugs as I could get for these people and I didn’t feel like taking their food or rent money.
