Minor Injury Crash Partially Closes I-5 South of Salem

State Police say the crash involved an SUV and a trailer.

(SALEM) - Four members of a British Columbia family received minor injuries Saturday afternoon when their sport utility vehicle towing a travel trailer rolled on Interstate 5 just south of Salem Saturday afternoon.

Northbound lanes were partially blocked about 3 1/2 hours as responders cleaned up the debris and removed vehicles.

Investigators with Oregon State Police say the crash happened Saturday at approximately 1:25 PM, when the driver of a Toyota Landcruiser towing a travel trailer lost control while northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 248.

The vehicles rolled and came to rest partially blocking the northbound inside lane and center median. A female adult and three children from Surrey, British Columbia received minor injuries. There was no report of injury to the male driver.

Oregon State Police, ODOT, and local emergency personnel responding to the scene. There is no report if the injured occupants were transported for treatment. Names are not available.

Three tow trucks, two dump trucks, and a loader came to the scene to clear vehicles and clean up debris.
