(ISLAMABAD) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan accepted the plea of Rimsha’s accuser to seek to re-open her case. She is the Christian girl who was accused of blasphemy that had her case dismissed, or so we thought.

Earlier, on 16th January 2013, when the Supreme Court (SC) dismissed a final appeal in the case against Rimsha Masih, it effectively ended all legal proceedings on the issue.

Then on 22nd March, the bench of three judges headed by Justice Tasdaq Hussain Gilani, issued the order to precede with the case again.

According to the sources, Rimsha’s complainant has filed an application in the apex court to review the decision of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which is accepted by the SC.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) removed all charges against Rimsha. http://dawn.com/2012/11/20/ihc-orders-removal-of-fir-against-rimsha/comment-page-1/

It’s amazing that council of Rimsha was not seen in the court today, and it is believed that if case is not handled properly, it may open a new chapter in the history of Blasphemy cases in Pakistan.
