(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies were called out over a reported shooting this morning at 10:43 a.m. They were told the shooting that just occurred inside a Willow Creek Apartment, located at 3644 SE Westview, in the Oak Grove neighborhood just south of the City of Milwaukie, according to Sheriff's Office Spokesman Detective Jim Strovink. He says responding deputies discovered one male adult inside this residence deceased, and were immediately able to determine two additional roommates of the deceased, present during the shooting, were not injured during this fatal shooting incident. "These two roommate witnesses – a male and female – stated to investigators that two male subjects came to the front door of the apartment, knocked on the apartment door and barged their way into this residence while armed with a firearm." Strovink says only seconds elapsed and the deceased was shot and killed by one of these armed intruders inside the residence. "The two suspects are reported to have immediately fled the scene of the shooting and were not contacted by responding Deputies." They are described only as: Black male adults, 6' – 6'02" tall, large builds. Each suspect further described to be wearing hoods on their heads and large white puffy jackets. At least one suspect was armed with a firearm. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office continues to pursue this criminal investigation. Sheriff's Detectives remain on the scene investigating and processing the crime scene with technicians representing the Oregon State Crime Laboratory. The deceased is identified as 28-year old Joseph Patrick Haley; who resided at this residence with his two unidentified roommates who are being interviewed by investigators. Mr. Haley is believed to have relatives residing in the Silverton area. At approximately 3:30 p.m., Joseph Haley's body was removed from the crime scene by the attending Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner, who then transported the deceased to the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office for the pending forensic autopsy. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance from the public with their efforts to identify the suspects responsible for this crime. Oh Joe, I don't know what to say. My heart hurts so bad. I'm going to miss you, man!! Patty, I'm so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you feel. Joe was a good kid. Things like this aren't supposed to happen to people like him. I'm sure he's up in Heaven wearing a Cowboys jacket and talkin' crap to God about my 'Skins. I'm sorry I wasn't at the funeral. I would have been there but I didn't find out until after. RIP Joesph Patrick Haley

The world has lost one great young man. Joe was a great person/friend/nephew/cousin/son and he will be missed by all. Joe touched so many hearts and will never be forgotten. We love you Joe ... Rest in Peace and we ill see you soon. Love you forever and always, Janet
